Use the form above (give me as much detail as you can about your needs), or reach out through email: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also get in touch with me through my Facebook page here. After this initial contact, we will set up an in-person consultation at the SKP home studio.
The consultation is a sit-down meeting at my home studio during which we will thoroughly go over my process for your photo session and what you can expect from me in terms of services, pricing, timelines, and all the nitty-gritty details. Because such care and time is put into each session and each image, and because my business is invested in relationships, this in-person meeting is very important for me to get to know you and for you to get to know me.
During the consultation we'll disciss the vision for your photo shoot and brainstorm how to make it come to life. We'll determine the intent of your portraits and your product needs, which will help me shoot with purpose 100% of the time during your session. You'll be able to see/touch/explore my entire product line and review packages and pricing. And we'll review my photography contract and studio policies.
This meeting is a consultation only with no obligation whatsoever to book at that moment; you'll be able to take home my welcome packet to mull things over. However, if you love everything about me and are ready to book, you'll sign a contract and pay a deposit at the consultation.
No, it does not. All products, digital and printed, are sold separately in collections or á la carte.
I offer two different types of digital files for purchase individually or in collections: Social Media JPEGs and Digital Archives. Social Media JPEGs come with a license to reproduce the images on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, personal blogs and websites, etc. Digital Archives come with a license to reproduce the images physically (prints, holiday cards, etc.) and on social media. Social Media JPEGs include a watermark that may not be removed; Digital Archives do not include a watermark.
The purchase of a Digital Archive or of any print product (print, wall canvas, album, etc.) includes a complimentary Social Media JPEG of that image or images.
Both Social Media JPEGs and Digital Archives are subject to US Copyright Law which will be discussed in detail during your consultation. This law explains what you may and may not "do" with or to an image. Special considerations can be discussed and included in your contract.
A family session includes you and your family members, including pets if you choose. During a family session I will photograph individual family members, small groups (e.g. mom with her daughters, dad with his sons, all siblings together, etc.), and whole-family large groups. Your pet(s) may be included in any of these photos, as well as on his/her own. During a pet session, I will focus solely on your pet and only take portraits of him/her. If you are the only human in your pet's life, I will also take a few portraits of the two of you together. Here are some case studies to help you determine which type of portrait session, family or pet, to book when you want photos of your pet:
Your family includes only you and your pet(s) = pet session
Your family includes you, your spouse/significant other, and your pet(s) = family session
Your family includes you and your significant other, your children, etc. and your pet(s) = family session
If you're still not sure which type of session is best for you, just ask! I'm here to help!
The best time for photo sessions is when the sun is either on its way up or on its way down. Early mornings or early evenings usually provide the most delicious light for portrait sessions, so I try my best to schedule sessions during these times (which change throughout the year as the days grow shorter or longer). Many people have very busy lives, so sometimes we have to work with the time available, even if it's not the best "photography" time, but don't worry! We'll create beautiful portraits no matter the time of day! I've got tricks up my sleeve for any situation!
Most of my portrait sessions take place on-location, both indoors and outdoors. This is someting we'll discuss during your consultation; the purpose of your shoot and your particular needs will determine what and how many locations we visit to create your portraits. Most of my high school Senior sessions and engagement sessions feature multiple locations (2-4), whereas most of my family, pet, and bridal sessions typically feature several beautiful spots at one location. I do also shoot indoor studio portraits for individuals, based on the individual's particular needs.
YES!!!! I am based in Burlington, but I serve ALL of North Carolina! My hot spots are Winston-Salem, High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Elon, Gibsonville, Mebane, Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill (and everything in between!). I am also available for travel outside of North Carolina!
I offer two types of Senior sessions: Basic and Posh. The Basic Senior session does not include professional hair and makeup, however you will be provided with a guide for achieving a polished look on the day of your session. The Posh Senior session includes professional hair and makeup. Whether you choose to have your hair and makeup done by my stylists or yours, professional hair and makeup is highly encouraged! Professional makeup artists and hair stylists know how to make your skin and hair glow in all the right places for the camera, without making you look "fake" or "plastic". Having this done at my studio on the day of your shoot takes away the stress of having to do it on your own and enhances your experience tenfold - it's your day and we'll pamper you the way you truly deserve!
